President Peter Pellegrini is in Tallinn, Estonia, for the Arraiolos Group summit of EU heads of state, where discussions focus on the development of artificial intelligence.
He stressed the need for balanced regulation, faster innovation, and better education. Pellegrini added that Slovakia, as a nuclear country, has a strong energy base and could become “a good place for AI gigafactories” in the future. The summit brings together Presidents from Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, and Slovenia. The Arraiolos Group is an informal political forum of EU Presidents.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Pellegrini welcomed Israel’s decision to agree to the first phase of the Gaza peace plan and expressed hope that all hostages will soon return home. He reiterated that Slovakia supports a two-state solution and recognized Palestine more than 30 years ago.
