President Peter Pellegrini attended the Slovak Pro summit in New York, bringing together about 200 successful Slovaks from business, technology, science, and culture.
He praised the event as a unique space where Slovak talent abroad connects and supports entrepreneurship, mentoring, and innovation. Pellegrini stressed that Slovakia must keep pace with global changes by moving toward a knowledge economy based on clean energy and innovation, and highlighted the value of the diaspora’s experience and networks for the country’s future.
Slovak Pro is a non-profit initiative of Slovak professionals in New York, founded in 2001. Today it brings together over 3,000 members in the U.S. and Canada and is among the most influential Slovak networks abroad. It organizes conferences, networking events, and mentoring programs to support talent, innovation, and business opportunities, while also connecting the Slovak diaspora with Slovakia and strengthening Slovak-American relations.
