Slovakia has received its first doses of the updated Comirnaty vaccine, adapted to the currently dominant COVID-19 variant LP.8.1. Vaccination will begin on 22 September at 16 hospitals and healthcare facilities, ministry spokesperson Veronika Daničová told TASR.
People can register online via the National Health Information Centre (NCZI), with appointments set according to capacity. The Health Ministry noted the vaccine was authorised by the EU and is expected to provide strong protection for the 2025/2026 season.
Health Minister Kamil Šaško (Hlas-SD) reiterated that vaccination will be available to everyone interested.
