Police Inspect Foreign Nationals’ Residency and Employers in Anti-Illegal Migration Operation

This week, the police carried out a security and enforcement operation focused on monitoring compliance with residency rules by third-country nationals. They checked the legality of foreigners’ stay in Slovakia, verified compliance with their obligations, inspected accommodation conditions, and investigated possible violations by employers and facility operators, police spokesperson Lea Vilhanová informed TASR.

“During the operation, 34 personal checks of third-country nationals and four inspections of production halls and accommodation facilities were carried out. Identified shortcomings and breaches of the law were addressed in line with Slovak legislation,” Vilhanová explained.

The action is part of the Police Corps’ activities aimed at preventing illegal migration, increasing security, protecting the rights and obligations of foreigners, and preventing violations of labor and residency legislation. Police have announced that they will continue conducting similar operations.

The intervention in the Bratislava regional border and foreign police jurisdiction was carried out by officers from the Dunajská Streda Foreign Police Department, the National Unit for Combating Illegal Migration of the Border and Foreign Police Office of the Police Corps Presidium, as well as staff from the Trnava Labor Inspectorate.
