A WWII-era bomb found during excavation works in central Bratislava was safely deactivated Tuesday at 10:45 a.m., police reported. Residents of evacuated buildings can now return safely.
The bomb, discovered Monday evening near the Landererova–Čulenova junction, was secured and removed with assistance from firefighters, who provided access for heavy equipment and helped with transport.
Several central streets and the Apollo Bridge were closed during the operation, causing traffic and public transport disruptions.
