A parliamentary delegation led by House Chair Richard Raši (Voice-SD) visited Tokyo on Wednesday for talks with the President of Japan’s House of Councillors, Masakazu Sekiguchi.
The discussions focused on deepening bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and preparations for a strategic partnership agreement between Slovakia and Japan.
Sekiguchi praised more than three decades of cooperation since the establishment of diplomatic ties, noting that over 60 Japanese companies contribute to the Slovak economy. Raši described Japan as a key partner in the Indo-Pacific region and invited his Japanese counterpart to visit Slovakia.
Both sides confirmed interest in Slovakia’s active participation at Expo 2025 in Osaka, where President Peter Pellegrini is expected to attend Slovakia’s National Day.
