The Ombudsman of Serbia, Zoran Pašalić, has found no evidence that police acted unlawfully during clashes in Báčsky Petrovec, which took place alongside the Slovak National Celebrations in Serbia.
Pašalić said police acted to ensure safety and prevent escalation, while respecting the rights of national minorities, and added that his office will continue monitoring the situation.
The clashes in early August involved attacks on a photography exhibition about anti-government protests, causing minor injuries and damage.
Slovak Ombudsman Róbert Dobrovodský welcomed the review, emphasising that protecting the rights of Slovaks in Serbia remains a priority.
