Major General Slavomír Verčimák has become the highest-ranking Slovak officer within NATO, taking on the role of Representative of the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels.
Over the next three years, Verčimák will represent the Supreme Allied Commander Europe at all political and military negotiations. The Slovak Armed Forces said his appointment reflects the high level of trust NATO places in Slovakia’s military.
