Anna Záborská, Slovak MP and former MEP, has died at the age of 77, the Christian Union party announced on Wednesday. A doctor by training, she served in the European Parliament from 2004 to 2019 with the Christian Democrats, where she was known as a leading opponent of abortion, gender equality policies and LGBTQI rights. In Slovakia, she co-founded the Forum of Life and later established the Christian Union, continuing her work as one of the country’s most prominent conservative voices.
