The Slovak government will host representatives of the Venice Commission on Thursday, the 21st of August, to review recent amendments to the law on non-profit organisations and planned changes to the Constitution.
The government says the visit aims to provide expert explanations and ensure transparency, after several missions over the past six months. The Venice Commission’s input comes amid political debate over the amendments and concerns raised by the Public Defender of Rights regarding NGO freedoms.
