Oil Flow to Slovakia via Druzhba Pipeline Restored

Oil supplies through the Druzhba pipeline resumed on Tuesday (August 19) evening, with state-run oil carrier Transpetrol confirming standard flow of oil, TASR was told by the Economy Ministry's press department the same day.

"Oil flowing into Slovakia is currently at the standard level. In the coming days, we will have more information available as to whether there will be any adjustments to the supply schedule for this month and whether damage to the infrastructure outside the territory of the Slovak Republic will affect the total monthly volume," said Economy Minister Denisa Saková (Voice-SD).

Due to damage at a transformer station in Russia, oil supplies to Slovakia through the Druzhba pipeline were suspended on Monday. This was the second such incident involving infrastructure damage in the past week; in this case, however, affecting the operation of the pipeline, the Ministry noted. The Ukrainian military has confirmed it carried out a strike on a pumping station in Russia’s Tambov region, which led to a halt in oil transportation through the Druzhba pipeline, including supplies to Slovakia.
