Defence Minister on Three-Way Meeting

Defence Minister on Three-Way Meeting

According to Slovak Defence Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Robert Kaliňák, if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky answers "yes" to a series of questions during his upcoming meeting with US President Donald Trump, the US will then arrange a three-way meeting. However, Milan Majerský, chairman of the opposition Christian Democrats, has repeatedly argued that peace talks cannot move forward without Ukraine’s direct involvement. The two leaders discussed these issues on the STVR Sunday prime time political debate O 5 Minút 12.

They also touched on topics such as defence spending and consolidation. Kaliňák highlighted that while Slovakia meets its obligation to allocate 2% of its GDP to the military, a significant portion of this funding is directed towards so-called dual-purpose projects, like the construction of hospitals and transport infrastructure.
