Prosecutor-General Maroš Žilinka announced on social media that his office will examine whether the Interior Ministry acted lawfully in failing to launch administrative proceedings over a possible breach of the legal spending cap in Peter Pellegrini's presidential campaign. Žilinka noted the PG Office initiated the review on its own.
Media have raised doubts about whether Pellegrini stayed within the €500,000 limit. In his spending report, he claimed compliance, stating he spent €499,451.
