Slovakia has deployed a Black Hawk helicopter to assist in fighting large forest fires in Albania, the Slovak Fire and Rescue Corps reported on Sunday. The helicopter will be stationed in the central town of Kuçovë for approximately five days.
The deployment was made at the request of the EU’s Emergency Coordination Centre under the Civil Protection Mechanism. Albania has been battling widespread wildfires since July.
