The Environment Ministry will allocate €55 million to heat producers for upgrading outdated heating pipelines in 17 Slovak towns and city districts. Minister Tomáš Taraba emphasized that the modernization will improve energy efficiency and reduce costs for both municipalities and households. Aging networks often lead to significant heat loss and heating outages, especially in winter. The ministry also plans additional funding schemes to further improve heating infrastructure.
