Slovakia has sent a Black Hawk helicopter and crew to help Bulgaria battle severe forest fires.
The request came from Bulgarian authorities on Saturday, and Slovakia responded immediately, according to the Interior Ministry.
The helicopter is now stationed in Plovdiv, central Bulgaria, and is expected to remain for about a week. Fires are burning in nearly 100 locations across the country, forcing evacuations amid record heat and strong winds.
