Slovakia joins international call to end war in Gaza

The Slovak Republic has joined 25 other countries and the European Commission in calling for an immediate end to the war in the Gaza Strip, condemning the inhumane killing of civilians and the continued detention of hostages. The announcement was made Tuesday by the Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.

Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár confirmed Slovakia’s support for the UK-led declaration on the occupied Palestinian territories, noting it was "immediately positively received" by the British side.

The joint statement, issued Monday, also criticized Israel’s blocking of humanitarian aid, saying its current method of aid distribution is dangerous, destabilizing, and deprives Palestinians of human dignity.

Signatories include foreign ministers from countries such as Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, and Sweden, alongside the European Commission. Belgian Commissioner Hadja Lahbib also endorsed the statement.
