Slovak students win at RoboCup 2025

Slovak high school students have triumphed at the international RoboCup 2025 competition held in Salvador, Brazil. The team from the Secondary School of Electrical Engineering in Prešov took first place overall, also securing victory in the "Rescue" category. Two other Slovak teams also returned with medals, the Ministry of Education announced on Tuesday.

The second place in the Soccer Robots category went to a team from Grösslingová 18 high school in Bratislava. A bronze medal in the "On Stage" category was won by another team from the Prešov electrical engineering school, although it was a different team from the same school that claimed the top prize.

RoboCup is a platform for young innovators that connects science, technology, and education. “Its vision is to develop a robot that will one day beat a human soccer team. However, the competition categories also address real-world challenges—from rescue missions to logistics, assistance, and artificial intelligence,” the Ministry stated.
