Investment Minister Samuel Migaľ has cancelled the call for research on digital transformation. According to the ministry, the submitted projects did not meet the required conditions, creating reputational risks that could jeopardize the drawdown of funds from the Recovery Plan.
In a statement, the ministry said that more than half of the 247 submitted applications failed to meet even the basic criteria or were assessed as low quality. Additionally, up to 90% of the supported projects were classified in research categories that did not align with their actual focus.
The ministry stated that continuing the call in its original format would be irresponsible toward applicants, public finances, and the goals of the Recovery Plan. As a result, it is preparing new projects and calls that "better reflect the needs of practice, technological progress, and the capabilities of our research and innovation teams."
