Slovakia has once again blocked the 18th package of EU sanctions against Russia, according to Euronews. Robert Fico's government is demanding guarantees from Brussels regarding the RePowerEU plan, which aims to end Russian gas imports by 2028.
Slovakia is seeking protection for its companies from lawsuits, compensation for transit losses, and a condition that the plan cannot be approved without its consent. According to diplomats, a compromise is still being sought, with further negotiations scheduled for Friday and next Tuesday.
