Slovak rail freight operator ZSSK Cargo has secured a €5.68 million grant from the EU’s Connecting Europe Facility to upgrade 23 electric locomotives with the European Train Control System.
Company director Jaroslav Daniška said the upgrade will improve safety and enable seamless cross-border train operations, supporting the EU’s goals for greener, more efficient freight transport.
