A Slovak delegation led by the Foreign Ministry met with Ukrainian counterparts in Kyiv on Tuesday to discuss energy security, bilateral ties, and peace efforts.
Slovakia reaffirmed support for Ukraine’s EU path and emphasised ongoing development aid, including demining and reconstruction efforts via the Ukraine Investment Framework. However, concerns were also raised over the potential suspension of gas transit through Ukraine.
In a statement released after the talks on Wednesday, Ukraine expressed its interest in a constructive dialogue with Slovakia. However, it firmly rejected any attempts at political pressure via energy issues or what it called “anti-Ukrainian rhetoric.”
