The Finance Ministry is to launch the pilot phase of a state food price comparator project on Tuesday after 5 p.m.
It is a website solution that will serve consumers to compare the prices of basic types of food in selected retail chains. Visitors to www.cenyslovensko.sk will be able to compare prices not only between the chains themselves, but also between specific outlets of their choice.
According to the ministry, consumers will be able to add individual products or their alternatives to a virtual shopping list. The system will then compare the products’ price throughout stores and will automatically show the cheapest option.
