Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha criticised Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár (Smer-SD) on Monday after Blanár suggested that the West should forgive Russia for its actions and resume communication. Blanár made the comments during a television discussion on Sunday, where he remarked that cooperation with Russia might include “forgiveness for everything that has happened.”
Sybiha reacted on the social media X, stating it was naive thinking to expect Russia would stop committing crimes if forgiven.
During the same discussion, opposition member Tomáš Valášek (PS) also weighed in, stating that Russia is not interested in peace and that the conflict will only end when Russia faces military setbacks on the battlefield.
