President on working visit to Slovenia

President Peter Pellegrini left for a two-day working visit to Slovenia on Thursday morning, the President Office's communications department reported.

The aim of the trip is to develop and promote bilateral and economic relations. The head of state will discuss current foreign policy, transatlantic relations and energy security with Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar.

"The working trip of the head of state fits in thematically with the context of the President's visits to the Western Balkan countries, which Slovakia and Slovenia support in their integration into the European Union," said the office.

Foreign Affairs Ministry State Secretary Rastislav Chovanec will accompany Pellegrini. The delegation will also include a group of Slovak entrepreneurs who cooperate with the port of Koper.

Pellegrini is also scheduled to hold talks with National Assembly Vice-president Meira Hot and Premier Robert Golob. At the end of the visit, he will meet compatriots and friends of Slovakia at the embassy in Ljubljana.
