Slovakia is close to concluding an inter-governmental agreement with the United States on the construction of a new nuclear reactor, said PM Robert Fico on Tuesday following his meeting with Economy Minister Denisa Sáková (Hlas-SD) regarding the implementation of the government manifesto by the Economy Ministry.
According to Fico, Slovakia is now only waiting for the USA's final stance. If an agreement is reached, a new large nuclear power unit would be built by American company Westinghouse at the Jaslovské Bohunice site (Trnava region).
