President Peter Pellegrini has announced plans to visit Kyiv. He informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about the upcoming trip and emphasized that the visit will be more than a mere courtesy call. Pellegrini is seeking to establish a meaningful dialogue that benefits both Slovakia and Ukraine.
“I met with President Zelenskyy at the Vilnius summit, and I expressed my intention to start preparing for this visit,” said Pellegrini. He highlighted the long-term potential of a developing Ukraine for eastern Slovakia, particularly after the war ends, when Ukraine begins reconstruction and growth.
Pellegrini reaffirmed Slovakia’s commitment to both the EU and NATO, adding that the visit would aim to send a positive signal to both nations about future cooperation.
