Zuzana Dlugošová, Chair of the Whistleblower Protection Office (WPO), has been elected in Brussels as the head of the Network of European Integrity and Whistleblowing Authorities (NEIWA), a European platform bringing together 35 state institutions from 23 European countries dedicated to protecting whistleblowers and promoting integrity. Since March 2023, the NEIWA network has been led by Italian Laura Valli.
The NEIWA European Network brings together state organisations from the Member States of the European Union and serves primarily as a platform for the exchange and dissemination of knowledge and experience in the field of whistleblower protection. It also informally oversees the process of transposition of EU Directive 2019/1937 on the protection of whistleblowers. The WPO has been an active member of this international network since 2021.
