Prime Minister Robert Fico says Europe should rethink its democratic systems to improve economic efficiency. During his visit to Uzbekistan, he argued that countries like China and Vietnam—without multi-party systems—are economically more efficient and competitive in the long term.
Fico claimed that governments made up of many political parties often suffer from instability and a lack of continuity, making it difficult to implement consistent policies. In his view, reducing the number of political parties would improve governance and effectiveness.
In addition to his political message, Fico also announced at a business forum in Tashkent that the Uzbek president is ready to offer land to Slovak companies. He highlighted opportunities in automotive production, water management, and nuclear energy, noting Slovakia’s experience in operating reactors. He also noted that Uzbekistan is interested in Slovakia’s expertise in dam management, drought forecasting, and stormwater prediction.
Talks further included potential cooperation in the defense industry and the employment of Uzbek workers in Slovakia’s industrial and healthcare sectors.
