Children will have the right to be with an accompanying person when receiving health care as MPs approved on Thursday an amendment to the law on health care and services related to its provision doing so via an amendment to the Education Act.
"The proposed amendment has been drafted on the basis of knowledge from practice related to the provision of health care in the area of the child population. This amendment will implement the right of a minor patient to the presence of an accompanying person during the health-care provision, while also fulfilling international obligations and recommendations for Slovakia in this area," reads the justification of the proposal.
The draft is proposed to take effect as of 1 September this year.
