Prime Minister Robert Fico has called for the resumption of talks with the Czech government, with key topics including a peaceful resolution to the war in Ukraine, revitalizing the Visegrad Four (V4) cooperation, and opposing the proposed removal of unanimous consent in certain EU decisions.
At a conference in Bratislava, Fico stressed the importance of unity in addressing these issues. Tensions, however, arose when Fico criticized Czech MEP Tomáš Zdechovský, who led a recent EU inspection mission to Slovakia. Fico accused Zdechovský of spreading political propaganda linked to the opposition.
Zdechovský rejected these accusations, calling them “disgusting lies” designed to discredit the mission.
