President Peter Pellegrini officially appointed four new Slovak ambassadors during a ceremony at the Presidential Palace. Letters of credence were presented to Juraj Macháč (Germany), Michal Slivovič (Turkey), Pavol Pánis (United Arab Emirates), Jozef Migaš (Belarus).
In his address, the President emphasized that these seasoned diplomats will represent Slovakia during a time of global uncertainty, marked by regional conflicts, weakened international institutions, and growing economic tensions.
He stressed the importance of flexibility, proactive diplomacy, and promoting Slovakia’s interests within the EU and NATO, while also cultivating bilateral relations based on mutual respect and benefit.
Pellegrini expressed confidence that the ambassadors would uphold Slovakia’s values of cooperation, trust, and peace. Each diplomat brings extensive experience, having previously served in various key international roles.
