A live-fire battalion drill was held during the Slovenský štít 2025 exercise at the Lešť Training Center, focusing on defending Slovakia’s territory and improving unit protection. President Peter Pellegrini praised the armed forces’ readiness and backed further military modernization. Defense Minister Robert Kaliňák highlighted the role of such exercises in preparing for real-life emergencies.
Slovenský štít is Slovakia’s largest international military exercise, with participation from Georgia, Hungary, Poland, the U.S. Indiana National Guard, and NATO allies from Spain, the Czech Republic, and Romania.
