On Sunday, May 18, Slovak President Peter Pellegrini will travel to Rome to attend the inaugural mass of Pope Leo XIV at St. Peter’s Square. Deputy Prime Minister and Environment Minister Tomáš Taraba will also join the delegation. After the mass, Pellegrini plans to personally congratulate the pope and express Slovakia’s support for the Holy See’s global efforts to promote peace, dialogue, and understanding. He previously extended congratulations via social media and invited the pope to Slovakia, emphasizing the country’s commitment to strengthening historic ties and fostering cooperation for peace and solidarity.
