Security council to meet amid fears of further violence

On Thursday (May 15), an extraordinary session of the Slovak Republic's Security Council will take place, according to information provided to TASR by the press department of the Government Office of the Slovak Republic.

Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) announced the session of the Security Council in response to the rise in hate speech, physical altercations among the public, and a high probability of another attack on a public official. He also intends to address these concerns during the government meeting.

The government cabinet is set to meet in Handlová on Thursday, marking one year since the assassination attempt on the prime minister. The Smer-SD party is also organizing an event in Handlová on Thursday titled "Enough Hate."
