Education Minister Tomáš Drucker stressed the need for education reform and upskilling across the EU to meet future labour market demands. Speaking in Brussels at the EU Education and Youth Council, he highlighted the impact of AI and disinformation on education systems, as well as the need for adaptable skills and lifelong learning.
Drucker warned that the rapid pace of change makes it difficult to predict future job trends and called for closer ties between education and employers. He also urged fellow ministers to ensure emotional development and early skills training in children. Slovakia, he noted, is already implementing reforms and will host a global forum on education and skills, as well as an AI summit in November.
