President Peter Pellegrini urged Europe to lead not only in research but especially in applying new technologies, during a Slovak-Italian startup conference in Turin. He stressed the need to reduce unnecessary regulations that slow innovation and called on Europe to be bold in implementing new tech. Highlighting the power of a shared innovation space, Pellegrini said countries like Slovakia and Italy can build a global-impact ecosystem. He praised visionary figures like Milan Rastislav Štefánik and welcomed nuclear researcher Stefano Buono as Slovakia’s honorary consul in Turin. The Slovak delegation included startups working in AI, green tech, and healthcare, reflecting the country’s growing potential in innovation.
