President Ivan Gašparovič on Thursday met a group of Australian entrepreneurs led by Governor-General of Australia Quentin Bryce. The mission was organised by the European Australian Business Council (EABC). At their meeting, the officials discussed co-operation within the economy and finance and options for developing it further.
Gašparovič also broached co-operation between the two countries within the United Nations (UN) and NATO, praising it as very good. Bryce informed the president about the contribution of the Slovak-Australian community to her country. The governor-general stated that she values the fact that Slovaks have retained their culture, language and traditions in Australia.
