President Peter Pellegrini called Slovakia’s EU and NATO membership among its greatest achievements. He stressed the need to continuously highlight the benefits of EU membership and address regional disparities within the EU.
Radim Dvořák, acting head of the European Commission's representation in Slovakia, underscored Slovakia’s active role in shaping EU decisions. Pellegrini reaffirmed Slovakia's support for EU enlargement, particularly toward the Western Balkans, and confirmed his attendance at the NATO summit in June. He also welcomed the European Commission’s focus on innovation and AI, as well as the positive decision on the fifth recovery plan payment.
