The national flags of the Slovak Republic will be lowered to half-staff until the end of the state mourning period on Saturday, April 26. This decision follows the declaration of state mourning in Slovakia leading up to the funeral of Pope Francis. The state mourning will last from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. . Pope Francis died on Monday morning at the age of 88. President Peter Pellegrini will attend the Holy Father's funeral on behalf of Slovakia, along with representatives of the Slovak Catholic Church.
