Measures introduced against foot-and-mouth disease could be lifted in Slovakia in the first week of May, around the 7th to 10th, respectively, Agriculture Minister Richard Takáč (Smer-SD) announced after Wednesday's cabinet meeting. He added that the relaxation of veterinary measures could begin in the east of Slovakia, which is not yet affected by foot-and-mouth disease, for example, by reopening zoos.
