Premier Robert Fico, accompanied by Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar (both Smer-SD), departed on Wednesday morning for an official visit to Croatia, during which he'll meet with the country's top officials.
The Slovak Premier will be welcomed at the Croatian Government Office by his counterpart Andrej Plenkovic. They will discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic sector. They also plan to negotiate possibilities for cooperation in the energy sector.
The meeting will also address current developments in European politics, including issues such as illegal migration and the European integration of Western Balkan countries, the Slovak Government Office specified in a release.
During his visit to Zagreb, Fico will also meet with Croatian President Zoran Milanovic and Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Gordan Jandrokovic.
The Premier is expected to return to Slovakia on Wednesday evening.
