The Interior Ministry has officially launched an electronic wallet allowing citizens to carry their ID and driver's license on their mobile devices. The eDoklady and eIdentita apps are available for iOS and Android users. For now, these digital documents can only be used for interactions with the police, such as during traffic stops. The Ministry has signed memoranda with the Slovak Post, the Railway Company, and health insurance associations to facilitate private sector communication through digital identity. The service, which also supports digital signatures without a card reader, has been in testing since January 2025 and is now live.
