On Daffodil Day, President Peter Pellegrini welcomed representatives of the League Against Cancer to the Presidential Palace, thanking them for their work and contributing to the fundraiser. He praised the efforts of thousands of young volunteers collecting donations across Slovakia, noting that last year’s campaign raised a record €1.2 million.
With approximately 40,000 new cancer cases diagnosed annually in Slovakia, Pellegrini dedicated the day to patients, expressed gratitude to medical professionals, and remembered those lost to the disease, including his own father. He urged the public to attend preventive screenings, emphasizing that early detection saves lives.
