Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár has requested Spain to provide its air defence system to Slovakia under NATO’s rotation system until Slovakia acquires its own by 2026. After talks with his Spanish counterpart José Manuel Albares at the NATO summit in Brussels, Blanár said Albares welcomed the idea and will present it to the Spanish government. Albares also invited Blanár to visit Madrid in June to strengthen economic ties, particularly in the automotive, infrastructure, energy, and defence sectors.
