Slovakia has secured 101 million EUR in EU funding for energy projects to help rebuild Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. The funds, allocated through the Ukrainian Investment Framework, will support initiatives like the modernization of transmission networks and the construction of a new substation in Ukraine. Foreign Affairs Minister Juraj Blanár highlighted the importance of these projects for Slovakia’s businesses and the ongoing support in providing electricity to Ukraine, where over 70% of the grid has been damaged. Eximbanka will back the projects with an additional 88 million EUR, of which 80 million EUR will be guaranteed by the European Commission. The projects will be carried out in Western Ukraine, benefiting local populations and improving energy security.
