The Labour Ministry has launched assistance under the working name "kurzarbeit" (short-time work) for employers and employees of farms where foot-and-mouth disease has been confirmed. As Labour Minister Erik Tomas (Hlas-SD) explained on Wednesday, the Ministry through the labour offices will reimburse 80 percent of the gross salary of those employees in case there is not enough work for the employees of those farms for a certain period of time for logical reasons. 60 percent will be reimbursed by the state and 20 percent will be contributed by the employer.
