New jobs continue to be created on the Slovak jobs market, said the Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Minister Jan Richter. “Five thousand jobs were created in October, and 51,000 jobs have been added since the beginning of the year.”
He added that the number of people working through so-called work performance agreements has been rising as well, as their number rose by 9,000 in October alone and by 96,000 since January. This attests to a stabilisation on the labour market, he said. The creation of new jobs has also been accompanied by a rise in the number of employers; as a result, the jobless rate has now been dropping for 10 months in a row.
