Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar (Smer-SD) is paying a four day official visit to India. The main goal is the development and support of mutual economic and investment co-operation, which is why Slovak entrepreneurs joined him. Blanar will meet his counterpart in Nai Delhi while he will open the Honorary Slovak Consular Office in Kolkata.
According to Blanar, the relations between India and Slovakia are very positive.
“We do not have any open political issues, but on the contrary, we are perceived by the Indians as a kind of gateway to the European Union and I think that this was one of the reasons why the Indian investor decided to invest in Slovakia in the automotive industry, where Slovakia is very strong, in this segment,” said Blanar adding that it is also strong in trade exchange between the two countries.
A record number of Slovak businesses are taking part in the trade mission to India this year, up from 22 last year to 25, Foreign and European Affairs Minister Juraj Blanar declared during his working trip to India on Monday.
The most important fields of Slovak-Indian economic cooperation are mechanical engineering, innovations, IT and green technologies, reported TASR's special correspondent.
