Slovak education unions remain on strike alert until legislative changes ensure salary increases for school employees, as requested by the Education and Science Workers' Union. The draft includes provisions for a 7% salary increase starting in September 2025 and January 2026 for all staff. The memorandum also supports the introduction of an automatic salary increase system and transferring personal costs for all education workers to local government budgets, directly funded by the Ministry of Education. The union aims to finalize and sign the memorandum in April.
